Perfume is used to give the human body, animals, objects and living spaces a pleasant smell or fragrance. Fragrant essential oils, aroma compounds, fixatives and solvents make up its composition. For women it is considered the epitome of elegance as colognes have been commercialized. The fragrance of a beautiful woman is a definite embodiment of her womanliness.

Composition

Names like Chanel, Estee Lauder, Guerlain, Thierry Mugler or Lanvin make some very famous commercial womens perfumes. True perfumes contain a greater amount of perfume oils and are more expensive than colognes and toilet waters. Most perfumes are made up of 10 to 20 percent perfume oils dissolved in alcohol.

The composition of a perfume depends largely on its intended use. Most expensive body perfumes contain rare flower oils from many parts of the world. Perfumes used in soap making come from low-cost materials. Many perfumes are blends of flower and plant oils, animal substances, synthetics, alcohol and water.

Fragrance Classics

Chance, No. 5 and Allure are some of the classic fragrances by Chanel. In addition, there are featured celebrity perfumes like Unforgivable Woman Black by Sean John, Spirit by Antonio Banderas and Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears.

Many of these popular perfumes are sold by the big houses and are priced between $100 and $200 an ounce. The true connoisseur of colognes will always buy her brand, because it has become a part of her personality, even though there are special offers for other brands available during special seasons.

The Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel is a 100ml Eau de Spray. It was launched in 2001 and can truly be classified as a feminine and sexy fragrance. The fragrance is light and the various fragrances that are available are mandarin, orange blossom, baroque flowers, Bulgarian rose, Indian jasmine and Tonka bean. The Chanel No. 5 is one of the oldest formulas of Chanel, launched in 1921. From that time until today it is considered one of the most feminine and yet modern floral fragrances. The fragrance notes include ylang-ylang, amber, iris, patchouli, neroli, grasse jasmine, may rose, sandalwood and vanilla.

An equally enticing fragrance is Euphoria by Calvin Klein. It can be classified as modern, sophisticated and feminine as it has a flowery fragrance. The various flower fragrances in which Euphoria is available are black violet, pomegranate, black orchid, mahogany wood, persimmon and lotus blossom.

The perfume launched by Viktor & Rolf called Flowerbomb also has a woody fresh fragrance and is known for its Asian influences. Some of the fragrance notes used are Asian favorites like patchouli, jasmine, freesia and bergamot. Another sensual scent is the one from Donna Karan called DKNY Be Delicious. It is definitely an exotic fragrance that is refreshing, fresh, sophisticated and crisp. The fragrances used are very much different from the others because they are grapefruit, cucumber, apple and magnolia.

Whether Gucci, Armani, Christian Dior or even a less well-known maker makes it, a woman’s own special fragrance lends her grace, style and elegance. It matches the flavor of her dress, the occasion and the personality of the person who uses it.
