Both Land Rover and Jaguar were sold in March 2008, to Tata the Indian car giant for $2.3 billion; Ford invested a total of about $10 Billion into the two companies. It has also been reported that Ford are going to have to find another $600 million to make up a shortfall in the companies pension funds. It seems like a massive loss until you consider that Daimler Benz invested $36 Billion into Chrysler and sold 80.1% nine years later for $7.4 Billion. Tata have recently been on a spending spree and it is clearly good timing for them to make this acquisition whilst the US Dollar is so weak.

There was a time many years ago when a company could be paid out on an insurance claim for no reason, other than for being a good and loyal client to the insurance company. Whilst it is possible that even today an insurance company could make a commercial decision when considering a claim from a very large client, many companies are at risk of having claims repudiated.

Mercedes Benz is a marque that has throughout the years been associated with luxury and high build quality. When one sees a new Mercedes Benz with it’s beautiful lines driving down the road, its easy to forget that like most manufacturers Mercedes Benz have had their ups and downs, some of them quite recently; Mercedes build quality started to suffer in recent years, it came to the point where contract hire and leasing companies became nervous about recommending them. The model that came in for the most criticism was the M Class.
